Caja Madrid is one of the largest Cajas in Spain and has recently merged with a number of smaller savings banks and Bancaja.

Whilst they are still lending in the resident sector Caja Madrid have pulled out of offering, except in exceptional circumstances; lending to non-residents.

There has been much speculation about the capital strength of Caja Madrid and it may be some years before their issues are resolve and they dip their toes back into non-resident lending.
